Job Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking passionate, energetic and flexible individuals to join the team as business analysts. The business analyst position on the Sling TV Release Management team is responsible for the intake of requirements for new business initiatives, issues faced by business systems in the live environment and release scheduling/coordination. Time management, project management and effective communication will be essential skills for success in this role. The position gives the right candidate the opportunity to understand the complete business systems that make the product that is redefining the TV industry.

 

The Team/Role:

 

The release management team is responsible for intake and prioritization of all development requests ensuring that the IT teams are creating the greatest amount of value for the business each development cycle. The role offers tremendous exposure for the candidate. The business analyst will engage with multiple stakeholders including IT developers and all levels of management ranging from mid-level managers to executives.

 

Team responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Manage the product backlog for IT development
  • Coordinate development activities with Sling IT and Engineering teams
  • Take corrective action to address deviation from requirements during development
  • Work with stakeholders to identify initiative value for the organization
  • Process development, compliance and continued improvement
  • Identify risks and mitigation strategies
  • Monitor and track the progress of initiatives

Skills - Experience and Requirements

A successful Business Analyst will have the following:

 

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university OR 4 years of relevant work experience OR combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to interact effectively with various IT teams and C level executives
  • Flexible, innovative and the ability to manage time and priorities in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment while being personal and professional
  • Work experience in IT organizations or with IT development a plus
  • Agile Scrum training/experience a plus
