    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    The Accounting Manager – Will manage various aspects of Contract Management, Subscriber Data compilation, Content Providers (Programmer) Payments, Invoices, and Studio Payment functions.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Understand programmer contracts to determine payment requirements, calculations and impact to subscriber reporting.
    • Partcipate in launch meetings of new channels and understand contractual obligations of Dish Network.
    • Review/audit payments for programmers based upon the terms of the contracts.
    • Work directly with Legal/Programming Operations on contract interpretations that impact payment and subscriber calculations.
    • Assist with the creation and review of monthly reports on subscriber information.
    • Serve as a liaison to the IT and Accounting departments to ensure programming and other vendors are accurately supported by Dish Network.
    • Draft/Audit special report requests to IT to ensure correct subscribers are being reported and ensure that Dish Network is following the programmer contract.
    • Compute, calculate and record or posts statistical, numerical or financial data.
    • Review and determine accuracy of source data, account balances, calculations, etc; investigate and reconcile any discrepancies.
    • May develop queries; generate and distribute reports and work product.
    • Assist with ensuring payments are accurate and timely to all programmers and vendors.
    • Assist with circulation and tracking of payments for approvals.
    • Communicate with programmers and vendors and respond to inquiries; take corrective actions.
    • May be responsible for SOX documentation including updates and support of the audits by internal and external auditors. Assist with ensuring that the Programming payment processes are SOX compliant for accuracy and completeness.
    • Support audits performed by Programmers or their designee in accordance to contracts.Responsible for process improvements and implementation of new systems that result in efficiencies within the department.

    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    A successful Accounting Manager will have the following:

    • Bachelors degree (B.A.) and four years of related accounting experience; or six to eight years of related education, industry experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Previous management experience of 5-7+ years is required.
    • Ability to develop high performing team members through engagement, mentorship and integrity.
    • Highly advanced or expert Excel or Query skills a must.
    • Familiarity with CSG, Amdocs, Ascendon, Recurly billing systems.
    • Familiarity with legal contracts
    • Working knowledge of OBIEE and Oracle Financials.
    • Experience in working with studios and content providers (programmers).
