Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for managing several programs that are critical to the success of Direct Sales, the National Sales Partner, and National Accounts Sales Channels. Combined, these channels are responsible for 75%+ of Dish Network activations each year.


The Analyst will be responsible for ad hoc and recurring report creation for these channels. This duty will include partnering with internal teams that maintain our operational sales data and use standard reporting tools (Tableau, Excel, SQL) to access and compile data outlining our key performance metrics. The ideal individual in this role will work to quickly automate manual processes in order to take on broader analytics and process change initiatives for the sales channel.


Primary Responsibilities Include:


  • Read, analyze, and interpret common metrics used to measure and monitor operational performance, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide clear and concise communication with a wide audience of internal departments
  • Prepare, produce, and validate daily, weekly, and monthly reports specifically to measure, monitor, and alert the business in cases of unforeseen spikes, dips, trend changes
  • Creation of formal and informal communications to all levels of a Fortune 200 Sales Department
  • Identifying opportunities for improving existing processes and implementation of changes
  • Perform special projects, research, analysis, and presentations at the request of senior Dish Network leadership
  • Ability to partner with multliple business units to provide a deep technical understanding of the data that drives sales performance



Skills - Experience and Requirements

A successful Business Intelligence Analyst will have the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of and experience MS Office tools, experience using SQL and Tableau preferred
  • Experience writing reports
  • Motivated self-starter with ‘can-do attitude’; demonstrated history of being a top performer.
  • Demonstrate excellent presentation and documentation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills; familiar with relational database concepts; proven initiative; excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external partners
  • Have the desire to learn and continue to develop professional talents and skills that will enable growth into future positions within the organization
  • Basic knowledge of corporate policies and procedures
