Job Duties and Responsibilities


The International Programming Team internally develops DISH and Sling’s strategic initiatives to further both platforms’ International businesses, evaluates and negotiates content acquisition deals, and maintains existing International programmer relationships.  The Programming Coordinator will be a key member of the International Programming Team.  Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze the latest trends in Media, Pay-TV  and Network industries
  • Analyze viewer measurement trends across the channels/language groups and come up with recommendations
  • Strategize on international content discovery
  • Research content from various language groups
  • Discuss programming schedules with external business partners
  • Work cross-functionally with various DISH/Sling departments.

Skills - Experience and Requirements

A successful Programming Coordinator will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in working with foreign cultures and the Pay-TV industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfort in communicating with upper management; high focus on building and maintaining strong internal and external business relationships
  • Sound analytical skills; both qualitative & quantitative and the ability to think creatively and independently, as well as collaboratively
  • Ability to review and analyze a large volume of data; strong Excel skills (preferred)
  • Ability to read and understand contract language (preferred)
  • Passion for international (preferred)
  • Understanding of international content, top shows, and trends in various countries (preferred)
