Job Duties and Responsibilities

DISH Network is seeking a mid-level transactional attorney who is passionate about our business and interested in working closely with our IT business team. This role will primarily support the various legal needs of DISH’s IT department and will have the ability to directly contribute to DISH’s future growth. 

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories: 

 

  • Drafting and negotiating a wide variety of software licenses and other commercial contracts
  • Counseling DISH’s IT department on various legal issues as they arise
  • Working closely with our IT department to accomplish DISH’s goals and strategic objectives
  • Improving legal processes and procedures
  • Assisting with other responsibilities as needed

Skills - Experience and Requirements

A successful applicant will have the following:

 

  • Bachelor's degree from a four year college or univeristy
  • Admitted to practice law in at least one state
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with a law school class rank in the top 25%
  • 3-7 years of experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of complex commercial agreements with a large national or regional law firm or leading corporation, including meaningful experience drafting and negotiating software licensing and development agreements
  • Excellent communication, project management, organization and multi-tasking skills; energy, resourcefulness and a demonstrated desire to achieve 
  • A passion for both the in-house practice of law and the home entertainment industry
