We are seeking a Sr. Manager of Total Rewards and Shared Services responsible for Compensation, Benefits and HR Technology who will be responsible for handling the strategy of DISH's programs, processes and tools in these areas.The person in this role provides professional level strategic, analytical and technical support to managers and DISH senior leadership.This work will be accomplished while ensuring that compensation, benefits and systems comply with evolving DISH policies and federal and state laws and regulations. The Sr. Manager will report to our CHRO and work closely with the HR and DISH leadership team.


Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Develop a compensation strategy and program for DISH including benchmarking, researching and analyzing market salary data, evaluating internal equity, variable pay plan design, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of DISH's compensation practices. 
  • Develop the overall strategy for DISH's benefit program including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), FMLA, COBRA and other benefits to balance employee needs, business objectives and legal compliance.
  • Utilize strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, interpret data, build useable spreadsheets, summarize results and make insightful recommendations.




Skills - Experience and Requirements

A successful Sr. Manager of Total Rewards and Shared Services will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; and 5+ years of progressive benefits, HR technology and compensation management and administration experience with strong operational focus; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Masters Degree preferred; PHR, SPHR, CEBS and/or CCP certification a plus.
  • Significant functional management experience in benefits, compensation and/or HR systems with supervisory experience of a team of 2 or more employees.
  • Thorough understanding of leading-edge HR practices and principles including applicable pay and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, FMLA and HIPPA regulations; experience working with HRIS systems (existing system is Oracle).
  • Ability to understand current benefit, compensation and technology trends; handle sensitive information with the strictest of confidentiality and use common sense regarding employee information.
  • Strong attention to detail and solid planning, time management, decision-making and organization skills; sense of urgency, excellent follow-through and ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Ensure policies, practices and procedures are administered in a fair and consistent manner and in accordance with all applicable local, state and/or federal laws.
  • Poise and excellent communication and influence skills with employees at every level from frontline to senior executives.
  • Strong ability to mentor and develop the HR Shared Services Team to be strong employee advocates, management advisors and HR experts across all aspects of compensation, benefits and HR technology.
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial culture as well as a larger, established company desired.
  • Experience in coaching and advising employees at multiple levels from front-line hourly employeesd to executives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively and influence with all levels of management and staff.
  • Adept at handling multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast-paced, results driven, rapidly changing environment - with minimal daily oversight.
