Job Duties and Responsibilities

DISH’s Manufacturing Department ensures the high-quality condition of millions of satellite receivers, remote controls, and other accessories.  State-of-the-art facilities in El Paso, TX, Spartanburg, SC, and Denver, CO, use advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to test, refurbish, and redistribute hardware to customers.

The Business Operations Analyst position is a part of the DISH Manufacturing Logistics team within the DISH Manufacturing organization.  The Logistics team oversees all contracts and programs related to shipments between our manufacturing facilities, to other departments at DISH, to and from our contracted partners, and to and from our customers. The analyst will work with data related to our freight and logistics operations to ensure reliable, timely, and cost-efficient shipments to all recipients, as well as to help drive process standardization and optimization. This position involves cross functional collaboration and its responsibilities are geared toward providing simple and easy to use solutions to complex problems, leveraging analytical techniques and data visualization tools.

Responsibilities:
The Business Operations Analyst will be responsible for analyzing large data sets to create trend reports, developing tools to audit operational processes, investigating irregularities in our shipments, and building analytical tools and models to improve our transportation programs.

Additional responsibilities:        

  • Develop and maintain daily operations reports.
  • Perform financial analyses for strategic initiatives within the Logistics Team.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze data related to all areas of our logistics operations and initiatives.

Skills - Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a data-intensive position or with “big data.”
  • Advanced skills and experience with Excel.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to convey findings from complex data sets with use of easy to understand charts, graphs, and observations.
  • Ability to articulate detailed business requirements for IT reporting and project request documents.
  • Well-developed verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of data analysis experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling and/or operations research concepts.
  • Experience with additional data analysis tools such as Tableau, SAS, R, or statistical modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with SQL and ability to write basic queries.
