Job Duties and Responsibilities

Join our product development team of highly technical engineers supporting the development of next generation television and wireless products. The manager position is responsible for managing a team of hardware and firmware design engineers that plan, design, and validate satellite receiver products and remote control firmware for Dish Network.  The size of the group is 8-10 engineers.  This team supports the product life cycle from cradle to grave.  Hardware design lead engineers also come out this group to lead the h/w development on all projects. 

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Manage and run the digital design and firmware design groups.
  • Responsible for daily technical operations for both groups. 
  • Responsble for hardware development of Dish Network products.    
  • Responsible for all hiring, mentoring, and personnel issues for both groups.
  • Responsible for annual performance reviews and performance of team.
  • Establish vision and goals for both groups.
  • Responsible for budgeting and resource and talent planning.

Skills - Experience and Requirements

A successful Design Manager will have the following:

  • 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 or more years experience managing a medium size hardware and firmware design group.
  • Experience with consumer electronics in a high volume environment a PLUS.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-starter with high energy
