    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    As the Lead of the Sling TV UI/UX Design team, you will be responsible for leading User Interface and User Experience strategy and development for the Sling TV website.  You will also be responsible for leading and mentoring a growing team of UX designers as we continue to build out our UX capabilities. You will work directly with business and IT stakeholders including agile development teams in our Denver and Englewood offices to develop new products and designs. You will help coordinate and formalize design processes between the UI/UX team and other design stakeholders including Sling TV Marketing, Brand, and Creative teams. The successful candidate will have experience leading an agile design team to deliver enterprise-level websites using user-centered research, testing, and design.

     

     

    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Lead and mentor a team of 3-5 designers to ensure our deliverables meet business requirements/needs and deliver user-centered design with business and operational value to customers.
    • Work collaboratively and iteratively with business stakeholders, product managers, engineering resources, product owners, and other design resources in an agile development environment from design through implementation.
    • Find the best opportunities to measure our current experience using quantitative and qualitative methods.
    • Produce user-interface designs in the form of wireframes, mid-to-high-fidelity screen designs, and/or prototypes using Sketch, InVision, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Advocate for a user-centered approach to UX design throughout the design process while understanding the needs of the business. Understand the trade-offs that may have to take place.
    • Translate business strategies into design opportunities. Support the planning and execution of design and research projects including website (mobile and desktop) interface evaluation, usability testing, prototype development, interface development, and other UX activities.
    • Evangelize user-centered design, research, and testing within the organization.
    • Use metrics and feedback to improve team and organization processes, best practices, performance, quality, and delivery.

    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    A successful UI / UX Manager will have the following:

    • BA/BS/BFA in User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Service Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent experience
    • 5+ years of UI/UX, interaction/interface design experience in enterprise applications or customer-facing applications, including team lead or management role(s)
    • Experience creating wireframes, mid-to-high-fidelity screen designs, and/or prototypes using Sketch, InVision, and the Adobe Creative Suite
    • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills to convey design strategies to key stakeholders
    • Portfolio that shows a robust UX design process and past successful projects
    • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional resources and work well in a distributed environment
    • Demonstrated understanding of and experience using agile processes and methodologies
    • Rally / CA Agile Central or other agile tool experience a plus
