    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Primary responsibilities and skills include the following areas:

    • A strong desire to learn new things and continually improve yourself and those around you with a “can do anything” mentality.  You live to experiment, test, fail fast, and learn as you go, we are not looking for a cookie cutter solution to our complex problems
    • Discover information hidden in vast amounts of data, and help make smarter decisions to deliver even better products.
    • Apply data mining techniques, do statistical analysis, and build high quality prediction systems integrated with our product. Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner.
    • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
    • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
    • Data mining using state-of-the-art methods.  Create automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance.

    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    A successful Data Analyst / Scientist will have:

    • A 4-year college degree in Computer Science / Information Technology, master’s degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience.
    • 3+ years of professional enterprise experience
    • ELK Stack / HDFS / Hadoop / Hive
    • Strong *nix skills, analytics, coding (Python, Java, R, etc) & SQL skills
    • Machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests,, etc.
