Job Duties and Responsibilities

Are you passionate about understanding and delighting your users? Love movies and TV? Want to join a team that is looking to redefine the future of video entertainment and is currently the number one live TV streaming service in the US? The User Experience Researcher and Designer will report to Sling TV’s Manager of User Experience and be responsible for researching, prototyping, and designing the Sling experience across a variety of different platforms. The successful candidate will lead user-research and testing initiatives as well as design user-experiences.



  • Determining and executing the best method for evaluating user-experiences in a very high-paced, Agile environment
  • Converting designs into interactive prototypes and testing designs with users
  • Measuring, analyzing, and distilling user-research and testing results into credible, actionable recommendations
  • Presenting research results and recommendations to a variety of personnel, from engineers to product managers to executives
  • Acting as a liaison to other departments to gather user-specific issues, delights, and other research
  • Designing user-experiences for Sling TV

Skills - Experience and Requirements

The successful UX Researcher will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Service Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in user-centric research and design

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in user-research activities such as moderated testing, survey design and analysis, A/B testing, qualitative and quantitative research, in-context studies, competitive analysis, interpreting analytics, conducting focus groups, and one-on-one interviews
  • Rapidly producing user-interface concepts and prototypes using Sketch, InVision,, and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Passion for creating usable, useful, and desirable products; relentless user advocacy
  • Knowledge of the 10-foot TV-watching experience and interactive TV-industry trends
