    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Interpreting business problems from a variety of business units and projects and designing technical solutions that may require work from various sub-disciplines of data science
    • Providing technical leadership on machine learning and data processing/analytics
    • Working alongside software and data engineers within the team providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members
    • Establish technical foundations, best practices and next-generation technologies
    • Communicate project plans, design and scope to a wide audience including both technical and non-technical people

    Skills - Experience and Requirements

     

    A successful Data Scientist should have the following:

     

    • Extensive experience with machine learning and statistical modeling are imperative; text mining and topic modeling are plus
    • The team is heavily investing in modern machine learning methods and technologies, so experience with Deep Learning, Neural Networks and corresponding technologies such as Tensorflow, Caffe, PyTorch, Scikit Learn, Numpy etc. is a plus
    • Python (preferred), R or other languages is a must
    • Typical data sources are truly "big", and thus working knowledge of Big Data technologies & NoSQL databases in addition to traditional Relational Databases is a must. Experience using streaming data processing techniques is a plus
    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience with Agile software development practices, software delivery automation (CI/CD) and cloud technologies is a plus
    • Experience with AWS and cloud-native computing is desirable
