Job Duties and Responsibilities


DISH Technologies, in Superior, CO (DISH North), is hiring a System Admin to support AWS based meta data systems,, and DishAnywhere mobile backend systems.   This is a great opportunity to join a team in an atmosphere similar to that of a start-up environment where ideas are encouraged and explored daily. This position will require the systems admin to assist in the architecting of the backend for transitioning, maintaining and upgrading existing infrastructure and processes.  




  • Establishes system by planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of web application server hardware, software, LANs and WANs.
  • Defines system and operational policies and procedures.
  • Maintains optimal system performance with system monitoring, analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Troubleshoots system hardware, software, networks and operating system.
  • Secures system by developing system access, monitoring, and controls.
  • Provide support for AWS and VCenter development and production systems


Skills - Experience and Requirements

A successful Systems Administrator will have:

  • 5 years of Linux/Unix systems administration
  • BS Computer Science or MIS/CIS/CE or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of AWS console, product line, API and toolset
  • Shell Scripting with Bash
  • Programming languages such as Perl or Python
  • Configuration management and AWS provisioning tools
  • TCP/IP or UDP
  • Being On-Call
