    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    We are looking for a senior level system administrator who is excited about using automation technology, such as configuration management, building systems in the cloud and architecting the environment to work with on-prem systems. If you have knowledge of, or interest in, configuration management applications (e.g. Chef, Ansible or Puppet); working with Cloud technology (e.g. AWS, Google, or Azure); and you have a solid background in on-prem enterprise Linux system administration, you may be a perfect fit to work with our highly collaborative team.

    Primary responsibilities: 

    • Process automation, including using Chef for configuration management.
    • Architect, implement, and support cloud, on-prem, and hybrid solutions.
    • Work effectively with System Architects, System Administrators, Network Administrators, Project Managers, DBAs, Developers and management to provide timely execution, support, planning, implementation and increased uptimes of business systems.
    • Mentor team members and co-workers.
    • Demonstrate leadership through technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, business knowledge, organizational skills and professionalism.
    • Identify sound technical solutions to meet the requirements of the business.
    • Perform system administration tasks in RHEL and CentOS 6/7 systems, including troubleshooting and performance tuning. This environment includes physical and virtual servers (using VMware).
    • Know or quickly learn the technical and business working environments through initiative and direction from senior staff and/or peers.


    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have: 

    • Strong knowledge of Chef or other configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc).
    • Strong knowledge of AWS or other major cloud environments (Google Cloud, Azure).
    • In depth working knowledge of RHEL and/or CentOS based systems and architectures, including strong command line skills.
    • Strong technical aptitude.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to understand client requirements, create concise implementation plans, and generate complete and coherent documentation. 
    • Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
