    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Working alongside data scientists and other software and data engineers within a full-stack team to design, build and deploy modern machine learning applications
    • Establish technical foundations & best practices for software development and data management to meet the needs of large-scale data science projects
    • Implement data pipelines, Micro-service APIs and machine learning models in a cloud-native environment using Python, Java/Scala, Spark, Hadoop, Docker and related technologies

    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    A successful Data Scientist should have the following:


    • Experience with Agile software development practices
      • Software delivery automation (CI/CD)
      • Cloud-native technologies and containers (e.g., Docker)
      • Test-Driven Design (TDD)
    • Solid foundation in algorithms and data structures
    • Expertise in Big Data technologies like Spark, Hadoop etc.
    • Expertise with relational databases and SQL
    • AWS and cloud-native applications experience a big plus
    • Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, Scala etc.
    • Experience with NoSQL databases such as HBase/Cassandra, MongoDB, Neo4j etc. is a must.
    • Experience using streaming data processing (Kafka, Kinesis, Spark-Streaming, Reactive-X frameworks) is a plus
    • Familiarity with in-memory data stores such as Redis, Memcached or Gemfire/Geode is a plus
    • As this position will be with the data science team, some experience with data analytics, machine-learning, predictive models is a plus
