    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    DISH Technologies, in Englewood, CO, is looking for a RF Engineering Manager to lead and manage an  RF engineering design team for DISH Technologies set top boxes and communication devices involving satellite, terrestrial off-air, and wireless technologies.



    The RF Manager will manage a group of 4-6 engineers and 2 RF technicians in the RF design team.  Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this group.  Manager will report to the Director of RF/OEM Engineering and work with other engineering departments as part of the overall DISH Technologies team.


    Primary Responsibilities

    • Responsible for daily management and technical operations of RF engineering team.
    • Management of direct reports to successfully implement technical requirements into mass product design that meets function, performance, and cost targets aligned with engineering and corporate requirements
    • Mentoring and guidance of technical items with direct report
    • Responsible for RF hardware development of Dish Network products
    • Issues RF engineering approval for the RF engineering team designs
    • Communicate and work with senior management, peers, program managers, and other associated hardware and software teams for product development and schedules

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Provide timely status on progress of projects, priorities, and issues to management
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
    • Setting group vision and goals with evaluation of group performance against said goals
    • Interact directly with DISH Technologies constituents through normal business communications, trade shows, or other functions as warranted
    • Must be flexible, innovative and have the ability to prioritize in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment.
    • Travel domestically and internationally, 1-3 weeks per year, in order to support product development. 


    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    A successful RF Manager will have the following:


    • BSEE or equivalent experience with emphasis in RF circuit and system design minimum
    • 5 years of engineering management of medium size hardware design group minimum
    • 5 years in RF design, test methods, and validation from component through system level
    • Experience with consumer electronics in a high-volume environment a PLUS.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Attention to detail


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of NB-IOT and IoT Radios with technology incorporating 3GPP standards, LoRA, SigFox, and other related low power wide area battery powered devices. Experience with these associated standards and their validation of RF, RRM, and Protocol compliance testing a PLUS
    • Knowledge of RF design involving 8PSK, QPSK, QAM, 8VSB, OFDM, and other digital communication methods. RF Designs involving DVB, RF4CE, Zigbee, Bluetooth, MoCA, WiFi, ATSC variants, and similar technologies a PLUS.
