    The Role

    We are seeking a passionate, energetic and flexible individual to join our International Business Unit as General Manager – Brand – International.  Our team operationalizes, markets, and sells international programming packages, available in over 20 language groups, within the United States. 

     

    The General Manager - Brand will be responsible for developing marketing strategies designed to grow and retain subscribers of across all of our languages for both DISH and Sling TV.  Leading a team of marketers with cultural and business focus in our different language groups – South Asian, Arabic, European, Brazilian and East Asian – the General Manager – Brand will help drive each respective language’s growth and profitability by devising KPI’s, business priorities, campaign strategies, and managing and growing the brand team’s marketing and business acumen. 

     

    In addition, the General Manager – Brand will work cross functionality across the team and the enterprise with key stakeholders to ensure all International business unit requirements are met, and initiatives can be launched on time and within budget.  S/he should be comfortable working autonomously in a fast paced environment, taking the initiative, managing multiple reporting requirements and relationships with key stakeholders, and working to find creative solutions as needed.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Along with department leadership and cross fuctional team leads/peers, determine the investment and prioritization strategy for all languages in the International business.
    • Lead development and management of the international marketing strategy, and lead key seasonal and evergreen campaigns to drive sales, customer acquisition, and brand awareness.
    • Develop media strategy across online and offline channels to support the overall marketing strategy in partnership with the digital and the offline media teams.
    • Work with business development and programming teams to identify target regions/customers, and to develop promotions and packages.
    • Ensure alignment with Digital Marketing, Customer Experience and Grassroots teams in execution of marketing strategy and campaign.
    • Lead all efforts to ensure a consistent, clear and concise message is delivered to customers, prospects, partners, analysts, and media.
    • Manage external agency & partnerships.
    • Manage marketing budget and P&L.
    • Build, develop and lead product marketing team in this dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Partner with marketing analytics and planning to establish campaign measurement and results reporting.
    • Responsible for staying abreast of latest market trends, competitive branding and messaging, and market research results. Incorporate key learnings into messaging and communication initiatives.

    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business, or related field.
    • MBA degree preferred but not required.
    • 10+ years experience in marketing and branding with hands-on execution experience.
    • Experience executing brand positioning initiatives, messaging platforms / campaign ideas and communication tactics across various mediums and channels are required.
    • Strong understanding of marketing metrics, including reach, frequency, ROMI and CPA.
    • Proven track record of managing creative agency relationships.
    • Previous experience managing budget resources and reporting business results.
    • Ideal candidate must be flexible and have the ability to think/act strategically as well as roll up their sleeves and work as an individual contributor to meet goals
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple projects concurrently
    • People management experience is required.
    • International or multicultural marketing experience is strongly preferred.
