    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    SlingTV is looking for a senior software engineer with extensive experience in C++/QT and the ability to solve complex problems. This is an opportunity to develop latest-gen applications for media streaming and lightweight consumer-oriented player systems. This is a senior level position with high visibility and you must have a proven track record of developing and porting software for hardware platforms. We are looking for an energetic, conscientious and detail oriented individual who enjoys making a difference, being part of an international team and takes pride in their career.


    This position will work in the American Fork office to develop, deliver, as well as maintain and enhance world class Streaming Roku TV applications. We're looking for experienced QT developers who write code in C++


    Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

    • Develop and improve C++ apps for the Roku platform using QT
    • Bring new features to life by collaborating with internal teams, including UX and backend teams, to insure product requirements are met
    • Build apps and back-end frameworks that are maintainable, flexible and scalable
    • Participate in code reviews from other developers to insure quality, stability, and overall architecture of our code base
    • Research and prototype to provide insight about potentially beneficial technologies and specific industry solutions.

    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    A successful Software Engineer will have the following:

    • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience
    • Real experience with the QT framework version 4.8 and greater
    • 5 or more years of frontend development with experience in C++
    • Experience working with XML or JSON data
    • Mac OS X familiarity
    • Object-oriented programming
    • Experience with contributing to a project using Git.
    • Experience working on the Roku platform

    Bonus Points For:

    • Self-starter with the ability to pick up new technologies quickly
    • Experience with some web tech including REST, HTML 5, Javascript and CSS
    • Experience writing unit tests with frameworks like QtTest
    • A strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, design patterns, and software engineering principles
    • A positive and proactive attitude toward finding solutions, meeting commitments, and assisting others
    • A desire to work in a team environment to learn and to solve interesting and challenging problems
