    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    A Solution Manager works within the Product Management discipline and is responsible for the evolution of high-level business initiatives from inception to development.  Solution Managers oversee the design, requirements, and implementation of cross-platform and cross-organization product features, including the user experience, which ultimately impact the success of SlingTV. This role is inherently cross-functional: working closely with architecture, engineering, design, marketing, legal, customer service, outside vendors, IT, and executive teams to develop advanced products and features.

     

    A successful candidate will be highly analytical, effectively communicative, resourceful, customer-focused, team-oriented, business minded, detail-oriented and will have an ability to lead a cross-functional team under time constraints to meet deadlines and milestones.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Oversee the definition, creation and launch of cutting edge features to be delivered on SlingTV.
    • Manage the cross-platform product life-cycle from feature inception to development, including coordination and overseeing decisions on implementation details.
    • Work with the business, product, and engineering leadership to identify and define improvement opportunities, performance fixes or future roadmap planning.
    • Work with Solution Architects to review, analyze, refine, and prioritize business initiatives.
    • Coordinate and communicate with Product Managers and Product Owners regarding product development and implementation.
    • Gather and analyze marketing and competitive information relevant to the product line including pricing, competitive analysis, sales, regulatory environment and market/product positioning.

    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    Skills, Experience, Requirements:

    • At least 3 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Must be passionate about technology and understand the strategic and technical possibilities for the future of SlingTV.
    • Must be a self-starter with high-energy to independently drive projects toward completion, with ability to work well under pressure and execute aggressive deadlines under changing business dynamics.
    • An understanding of how software is developed, cross-team dependencies, and the ability to craft appropriate acceptance criteria.
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
    • Strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask, strong written and verbal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate new ideas with internal and external partners
    • Familiarity with agile development processes, especially Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), is desired.
