    Job Duties and Responsibilities


    The Senior Program Manager is responsible for managing all projects within a specific portfolio within the Manufacturing and Distribution organization. The role is accountable for developing the full scope of projects and enhancements to existing programs to ensure continuous improvement and ensure the organization is functioning in as lean a manner as possible. A Senior Program Manager will identify and manage key resources to ensure the goals of the program are achieved. This role must be able to work independently and execute with minimal direction from management.



    • Manage programs of global scope, impact and complexity through all phases of the lifecycle
    • Manage interdependencies and integration among multiple projects, teams, and stakeholders
    • Has decision making authority at the program level
    • Handle cross-organizational programs of broad scope and high complexity or of broad scope and moderate complexity, usually managing a core team that manages function specific teams
    • Set direction for programs directly related to corporate policies or important business operations to meet strategic goals of significance
    • Lead the core team and guide performance of functional teams
    • Be the key interface with stakeholders and leadership internally and externally
    • Set and refine project objectives
    • Assign overall tasks to others managing general areas of responsibility in support of program goals
    • Exercise judgment and discretion to develop solutions, remove obstacles and redefine approaches
    • Recommend or set business strategies or corporate policies and deviate as appropriate
    • Oversee identification of tasks and research, dependencies, costs, assigns resources, and communicate expectations to core team members
    • Create/track/adjust the program schedule
    • Assess risks and identify solutions to timely, efficient achievement of program goals
    • Ensure appropriate progress against schedule and take remedial action as appropriate
    • Prioritize utilization of resources with other functions
    • Influence business unit or cross-organizational strategies relevant to program goals
    • Understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment design, design components, systems, instruments, and products
    • Work with vendors and manufacturers to design and develop products and implement a cost-effective design
    • Plan and implement research methodology and procedures related to engineering projects
    • Prepare and analyze technical drawings, specifications, and maps to ensure installations and operations conform standards and customer requirements
    • Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, installation, and maintenance standards and specifications
    • Work in coordination with manufacturing engineers in the installation, maintenance, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
    • Support launch of new product and processes, develop and document process steps and controls, specify and design new equipment or tooling as needed, generate databases as needed to track measurables

    • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
    • 5-7 years participating in program management, engineering or operations and sustainment leadership or 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree
    • Minimum of 5 years related Operations and/or Sustainment experience for critical, large scale systems, including transitioning new systems into operations
    • Broad technical understanding of various Operational systems in this environment
    • Experience with business and project management tools and procedures
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with customers
    • Experience in mentoring and team building
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills to include the ability to interact effectively with customers at all levels including senior executives



    • The ability to present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
    • The ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety rules, company policies, OSHA and production SOE’s
    • Create databases to measure identified variables and outputs of the product
    • Ability to work in a team environment with production operators, supervisors, and managers
    • Will be required to write technical documents and train team members
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and statistical process controls
