    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    The Digital Marketing Organization pushes itself every day to be a world-class, innovative, data driven team that develops, maintains and maximizes our relationships with key internal constituents, online agencies, digital ad networks and programming partners to drive business growth. 

    The Social Media Specialist, alongside the Social Media Brand Manager and Social Media Lead, will serve as point of contact for internal and external partners and departments for social media. Taking a holistic approach to end-to-end digital marketing, this role must be organized and eager to bridge across multiple groups to maintain the best practices and overall consistency of DISH social media. 

                Job duties and responsibilities fall in the following categories:

    • Assist Social Media Brand Manager with oversight of all paid and unpaid social Community campaigns within DISH's social media channels; focused on new customer acquisition but also working toward engagement and sentiment goals for other internal teams such as existing customer communications on social. Create intricate performance driven social media strategies across all platforms (desktop, mobile, tablet), working closely with media buying and creative agency to execute multi-faceted and integrated advertising campaigns
    • Lead Community Manager responsible for leading all organic social content creation development and creative strategy for new customer acquisition as well as ongoing fan engagement on DISH social accounts, inclusive of content calendar planning, real-time content and campaign planning. Responsible for leading creative briefing process and maintaining all creative asset deliverables by working with teams like programming, press, ad sales, digital and brand creative. Responsible for execution of all copy and imagery on DISH social media accounts, scheduling organic and paid content (when necessary) across channels
    • Collaborate with Brand team on the development of engaging, impactful/disruptive, and relevant creative while ensuring they are digitally optimized across all relevant platforms. Drive campaign optimization by testing new techniques, analyzing performance data, and shifting resources to top performing campaign elements. Share best practices and provide consultation to cross functional marketing groups including DishLatino, Sling, Dish International, DishNet and others.
    • Demonstrate excellent organization and coordination skills in partnering with programming networks such as HBO, AMC, Viacom, FOX, NBCU, Discovery, Turner, NFL, Crown Media, Netflix, Showtime, STARZ, Scripps, A+E Networks, movie studios & many others, as well as partners such as Amazon and Google to drive an ongoing content calendar
    • Effectively manage projects with strong organizational and communication skills. Thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment with a high capacity to multi-task and handle tight deadlines on a daily basis. Coordinate on-site integration with tools, 3rd party partners, and digital media creative elements
    • Maintain a pulse on real time trends and pop culture to inform ongoing social media strategy and content across platforms, as well as keep up to date with platform changes and roll outs
    • Produce and capture exclusive behind the scenes content from live events (awards shows, rodeos, music festivals) in addition to working with DISH’s DISH Studio team to cut content optimized for social. Assist in execution of Facebook Live, Live Talent Q&As on Facebook and Instagram, and staffing live events
    • Develop social briefing documents for brand partners and talent partnerships
    • Assist in brainstorming and collaboration with other teams, as team liaison for social media
    • Onboard new hires and new members of the social team, and lead ongoing best practices education sessions across teams at DISH

    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    A successful Social Media Specialist will have/be the following: 

    • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a relevant agency or client side role required. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field preferred. Experience managing a substantial budget and delivering results on a consistent basis a plus. Familiarity with different attribution platforms and their benefits
    • Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) as well as Adobe Spark and other quick video editing tools strongly preferred
    • Desire to win the business every single day with a strategic mindset, and passion for innovation and agile responsiveness
    • Experience with Sprinklr, HootSuite, 4C and other social media measurement and analytics platforms a plus
    • Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency and an ability to think creatively, strategically and quickly and to learn and act quickly. 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills that encourage team partnership, promote enthusiasm and foster strategic thinking
    • Excellent attention to detail, creativity, motivation and communication skills
