    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Dish Technologies Company (DTC) is seeking an energetic, highly motivated individual to join DTC as the Technical Staff Program Manager.  This position leads an enterprise team of professionals who are responsible for designing and supporting telecommunication systems that support business functions for the Broadcast Centers, Regional Uplink Centers and Local Receive Facilities, which are located in 213 Designated Market Areas (DMA).

    The successful candidate must be comfortable managing team members in multiple locations and is responsible for building scalable, resilient, and value adding technology systems. This role will ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications, schedules, and budgets. Partnering with the various DTC teams i.e. Broadcast Networks, Field Engineering, Locals Engineering, Business Team, Project Management and other members of the management and staff is critical for this position in order to achieve overarching enterprise objectives.


    Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories

    1. Coordinate resources to support the day-to-day administration, installation, upgrade and migration of telecommunication systems.
    2. Manage business relationships with telecom providers.
    3. Evaluate existing and new telecom services and provide cost-benefit recommendations.
    4. Manage and evaluate price quotes for new and replacement telecom services.
    5. Support the negotiation of new purchases and maintenance agreements with vendors to assure maximum leverage of enterprise buying power.
    6. Review and approve telecom invoices


    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    The successful Technical Staff Program Manager will have:

    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and six years of related experience; or at least ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Technical proficiency in telecommunications technology and related systems (e.g. MPLS, SONET, DWDM, Ethernet, physical layer cable systems) – high level of technical knowledge is preferred.
    • Visio & Google Earth (kmz files) proficiency.
    • Experience presenting and working with all levels of employees, including C Suite Executives.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn the business and technical flow of complex systems and their dependencies. 
    • Financial acumen with knowledge of pro-forma development and budget development/tracking required
    • Flexible, innovative and the ability to manage responsibilities and priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment.
