    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Dish Technologies is seeking an Engineer to work with our Denver team supporting the Channel Launch Team for Dish Network.  This individual will work first hand with the latest technology in satellite Digital Broadcasting Systems as well.  This individual will be expected to:

    • Join the channel launch team in weekly maintenance/support activities for the customer-facing satellite television and video-on-demand systems.
    • Meet with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to review program status and plan future actions.
    • Troubleshoot and fix systemic and configuration issues causing customer disruptions.


    Primary responsibilities fall into the following catagories:

    • Will learn to use the conditional access system, and other broadcast systems.
    • Help maintain a comprehensive set of documentation on the current system for use in future activity planning and training.
    • Utilize software development and scripting skills to analyze and automate broadcast system processes
    • Work with a dedicated team of engineers on weekly planning sessions to prepare future deployment and launch activities.
    • Analyze and validate prepared work from other engineers to ensure all business requirements are properly met before deploying changes to the live satellite systems.

    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    The successful Systems Engineer will have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Working knowledge of Linux, SQL, and basic scripting.
    • Familarity with relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL


    Our preference

    • 4 years’ experience in the tech industry as a systems engineer, test engineer, software developer, or experience in the digital communications industry, or relevant coursework
    • Very analytical and thorough in tasks assigned.
    • Self-starter capable of accepting various tasks and works them to completion with little supervision.
    • Quick learner with good communication and documentation skills.
