    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    DISH’s Manufacturing and Distribution division is seeking a Head of Finance, Forecasting, and Planning at our Littleton, CO location to provide decision and planning support for operational execution. This position will report directly to the SVP of Manufacturing and work closely with Manufacturing and Distribution operations leadership teams to provide all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, production planning, and material planning functions, as well as, perform ad hoc analyses when needed.

     

    This individual is responsible for managing analysts, accountants, planners, and their managers reviewing their models, challenging their assumptions, prioritizing critical work, keeping the team focused, and informing C-level executives of progress, strategies, risks and plans for operational execution. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are a necessity due to the pace of work and the amount of inter-departmental coordination. The right candidate will take ownership of the role, thrive in a high-volume and fast-paced environment, inspire others, and work to continually improve the performance of the team.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Participate at a high level on a team tasked with achieving the results identified by the Corporate Vision Statement and the company’s long-term strategic plan.
    • Work with leadership team and senior management to understand business strategy, direction, priorities and facility growth plans and needs. Integrate this knowledge with requirements from other groups to develop and advance plans that best support the overall business needs.
    • Support Manufacturing and Distribution Operations in achieving strategic goals by overseeing, maintaining and presenting budget, forecasting and inventory planning models. Suggest ideas to improve performance and collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure strategic alignment.
    • Interpret financial, forecasting, and production data and communicate recommendations to department leadership and company executives. Develop and present information to highlight areas of concern and/or opportunities. Work with operational managers to track progress and work toward achieving delivery goals and financial commitments.
    • Provide leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development.
    • Coordinate cross-functional activities that may include many functional departments to gather data, set goals, and present findings.
    • Lead analyses and manage the workload of small focused business teams. Maintain the flexibility to switch between items of priority quickly while not losing sight of all tasks at hand.
    • Write reports/correspondence and present information and respond to questions from executives/customers.
    • Provide support to Corporate Accounting, Finance, and Planning teams on targets, variances, production commitments, and material write-offs.

    Skills - Experience and Requirements

    SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Accounting, Finance, or Business and four years of relevant experience; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
    • Seven or more years of experience in multiple specializations or complex function of an Operations/Manufacturing environment with a minimum of five years of experience leading a team.
    • Well-developed oral and written presentation skills, with the ability to summarize complex concepts into understandable and easy-to-follow presentation materials.
    • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with ability to relay the company’s mission to other managers as a team player.
    • Lead a team in a fast paced, high throughput environment. Ability to establish productive working relationships with other departments and personnel at all levels.
    • Knowledge of cost accounting and financial background for a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint with some knowledge of forecasting, modeling, data mining, and database tools.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts (statistics, probabilities, algebraic expressions, etc.).
    • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality results.
